What's gonna happen to Fred Talbot's weather map now?

That floating map? That was a laugh for many years. For years everyone thought he would fall off of it one day - shame!

I am glad This Morning is finally being axed. I'll be glad to see the back of it. The Mirror yesterday headlined it, 'This Mourning' - not me!

AFAIK, it is still there, well it was a month ago when I was last there!

It does have an incresing amount of duckweed connected to it, but its still hanging in there!

The question now is what to put in it's place, the last thing ITV had on in the morning before This Morning was Schools & Colleges.

This morning has never been the same since it moved from Liverpool. It lost its character when it moved to South Bank. Sadly Granada can't move it back there now as the studio has been turned into a bar/bistro thingy I think.

The old This Morning studio in Liverpool is now used as the studio for the pathetic 'Shop!' Channel.

Could we be in for a ITV Schools revival folks?? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif Or even better, some nice Teletext! Ooh, aren't we lucky to be around in this era!!

If anything, they better not turn out like BBC1's crap, ugly, puky, morning schedule that doesn't work on me! Bring back Anne & Nick!

Oh, come on Conrad!

What about Bargain Hunt with David Dickinson?

A cult show if ever I saw one!

Well one thing's for sure, there's nothing better than a cosy married couple squabbling for 3 hours every morning!

If the 'This Morning' format is to survive - it needs a couple with real character to make the programme worth watching.

As much as I would happily berate Greek television, there are two morning shows there that compete hotly for the viewers.

ANTENNA has 'Morning Coffee' with Eleni Menegaki who's claim to fame is her beauty and (very basically - and sorry to offend) her tits. Whilst MEGA has 'Just Like Your Home' with an incredibly popular televisual couple - the woman is married with child and the guy is gay - that have the most perfect chemistry on screen.

Until that 'perfect' presenter-viewer relationship is achieved - this sort of programme is doomed on UK tv.

(Written under the influence - so apologies if this makes no sense!)

Maybe ITV could open up the schedules to a range of programmes in the slot, maybe a few gameshows etc, rather than one long monotonous GMTV-a-like.

Sorry, this is ITV we're thinking about. They couldn't possibly be expected to think up new ideas!!

Expect to see a rejigged This Morning-like programme with different presenters again...

Come up to Birmingham from 2 Jan, & listen to Tony Wadsworth & Julie Mayer on BBC WM 95.6FM between 6 & 9 Monday to Friday mornings, if you are desparate!!!

They are are a husband & wife team, & they squabble as well !!!

Slightly OT:
Do Granada still use the building next to Albert Dock with 'Granada Television' on the front? I think the Granada news programmes and segments in Granada tonight used to come from their but not anymore.

Also what news channels do they show in that bar in the Albert Dock, all I could see when I was their was SHOP!

I think the Granada Televison building is still used by Granada, I think for the interviews from Liverpool, AFAIK.

Does anyone know where the BBC interviews come from in Liverpool - do they hire out the Granada building, as I can only think of one BBC building in Liverpool - Radio Merseyside. Is it filmed in there?
