Yes, I realize this thread is three weeks late, but I can't see anyone else talking about it.

I have opened this thread for TV Forum members to talk about Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere. Enjoy!

After a disappointing start It's getting better as the series progresses. Though it's still Phoenix Night's Lite. Not Peter Kay's Best work, but with The Simpsons and peep show it still makes a a fantastic Friday night line-up.

It's not bad, it's not great. There's not half as much online stuff about this series as there was with the second series of Phoenix Nights.... will be watching my taped Episode 3 later, hope its better than the first two Confused Very Happy

The third episode is more serious than funny. It still has it's moments though. Peter Kay throwing a bucket of piss over a copper is quite good.

The part were Max found out he got the wrong bus and nearly ran into the police got my sides splitting.

Also, is it true that Peter Kay has stopped doing stand-up?

Personally, I was a huge fan of Phoenix Nights, although I never thought Max and Paddy were the funniest characters and I was a bit unsure about giving them their own spin-off series.

On the whole, I'm actually enjoying Road to Nowhere - it's quite amusing with nice storylines and it raises a smile, although I'm not laughing out loud anywhere near as much as I was during Phoenix Nights. Then again, it's always difficult to follow up something as big and successful as PN.

He's not doing any at the moment, but then he did a *huge* UK tour only last year, so I wouldn't expect him to be touring again for a while anyway.

I have to say that Tonight's episode has to be the funniest so far, mainly because we had the team from Phoenix Nights back, good to see Brian back being himself, also good to see the Phoenix regulars such as 'Rabbi Kenny Dagliesh Snr' Laughing , good to see Marc Park back in it aswell. The bit at the end when they all get sprayed with a special chemical, thinking that the Phoenix is Al-Qaida! Laughing The cake, which was 'especially made' even though it had 'Happy 60th Birthday Jerry!'

Brilliant stuff, to be honest I think if they can do stuff this funny then it might be worth doing a few more Phoenix Nights, there's alot more flexibilty to it with the characters.

And "Maxwell Bygraves" Top stuff Very Happy
