This is possibly old news, but I don't think it's been mentioned here before. According to this, the rather fantastic spoof schools science programme, Look Around You is back for a second series next month.
As well as being very funny, the last series included quite a few nice nods to 70s / 80s TV presentation such as a recreated 'Schools And Colleges' countdown clock. The DVD also had some 'pages from Ceefax' and there was even a late 70s BBC1 mirror globe on a hidden easter egg feature.
I'm not sure though about the plans to extend episodes to half an hour. I thought the ten minute episodes of the first series were just right, although maybe it'll give them scope to do develop more ideas. Should be worth watching!

Fantastic! I knew they were coming up with another series but I hadn't heard when. I also note that there's no Jack Morgan in that lineup - I presume he quit to persue his rock career!

Reading the press pack, it appears that the format has moved on from trashing Granada produced science schools programmes, and this series is going head on to take the p*** out of early 80's era of Tomorrow's World.
I thought there was at least another series of 10 minute Look Around You's waiting to be made, but I suppose the writers wanted to tackle something new.
"Blants" or "Thants" very much for the information!
Absolutely brilliant news - been waiting for ages for this...
Just look around you...
"I RON!"

press pack posted:
Taking inspiration from the golden era of late Seventies and early Eighties television, and in particular BBC's Tomorrow's World, the new comedy series Look Around You looks at the very latest developments in science and technology - from the computer made especially for women (with scented keyboard) to the horse race predicting machine (designed by a horse).
Shot with the same particular brand of humour as the first series - and presented with aplomb by the very talented Peter Packard, Jack Morgan, Pam Bachelor and Pealy Maghti - the enthusiastic team of presenters offers an insight into what life might be like in the year 2000 in the worlds of sport, health, music, food and computers.
Peter Packard is the most self-assured member of the Look Around You team - authoritative, dependable and reliable.
Jack Morgan is a wisecracker with musical ambitions.
Pam Bachelor is the female face of science, friendly and with lots of great outfits.
Pealy Maghti is well-spoken, smiley and fond of wearing jump suits.
The Look Around You team is joined in the studio by regular guests, inventors and science specialists - from the man who loves synthesisers so much that he changed his name to… Synthesiser Patel, to the Ghost of Tchaikovsky who judges the Look Around You Music 2000 competition, a search for the music the public will be listening to in the year 2000.
Each week the team takes a look at a different invention and gets to meet the inventors.
This culminates in the grand live final of the Look Around You Invention of the Year competition - the winner is revealed in the final episode.
The series features cameos from the UK's finest comedy performers including Harry Enfield, Mark Heap, Matt Lucas, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Sarah Alexander and Kevin Eldon.
Set in the early Eighties the series is a fashion fest of fantastic outfits along with some great hair and sideburns.
Highlights include the return of the brown suit, slip-on shoes, the ra-ra skirt and an array of jumpsuits.
Peter is played by Peter Serafinowicz, Jack by Robert Popper, Pam by Olivia Colman and Pealy by Josie D'Arby.
Josie D'Arby of Blue Peter fame?! I'm worried now!
