'That's Thames Valley' placeholder now popped up on L-Mux: Reading at LCN 7 from Hannington (Ch 29)

and 'That's Hampshire' placeholder on the Basingstoke L-Mux from Hannington at LCN 7 (Ch 51)

Branding fail then for Hampshire.

Issue 327 of the Ofcom Broadcast and On Demand Bulletin mentions that That's Manchester , That's Oxford and That's Solent are under investigation for potential breaches of their licensed programming commitments. So perhaps expect a report to be published in due course.

Yep ! There's also a horrible low res MHEG caption, that fails to even load on an older telly of mine !

Did they actually show a local programme of an acceptable quality? Laughing

I have used the contact form on That's Manchester's website to ask when their schedule will be listed again (it having been visible and then removed) and I still have not had any response. What is the point in providing contact forms and e-mail addresses, if they aren't going to respond to the (presumably) few viewers they have? The data must surely be available to feed the EPG, so it shouldn't be too hard to take that and re-purpose it?

I also note that all that 'That's' websites are now based on a standard template and all follow 'www.thats.tv/<placename>' for the format. However, it's a shame their websites are as dull as dish-water. All links to anything other than local news have been removed, and each local news video is hosted on YouTube. Whilst that is not necessarily a bad thing, the development of their own 'catch-up' player must surely be on their list?

When you look at the 'Made' network, 'That's' has little to redeem it - although I admit that their local news isn't too bad, at least not in Manchester.

P.S. - Does anybody have a capture of the MHEG caption for Berkshire / Hampshire?

There's really nothing exciting about it, all white screen, big pink 'That's' logo (in low res) centre left, black text saying 'That's Hampshire/Thames Valley coming soon', centre right. That's it, end of excitement

Made TV went from hosting their own video content to using Dailymotion instead. Not a major deal if it means the streams are more reliable.

Made in North Wales is far from it. It's based at Made in Liverpool!

It appears That's TV have had a change of heart and have decided to launch as That's Hampshire after all.

Reading will still launch as That's Thames Valley.

Reading opens tomorrow, still the on screen MHEG caption saying 'coming soon', Weird !

I still suspect That's Hampshire will originate from Reading, and that journo post will just operate from an office in Basingstoke (or maybe from their home, seeing as the ad asks where you live !). Amusing there's a Google maps link in that ad to show where Basingstoke is !

Made TV to go out on the road with 10-part paramedics documentary

Local TV network Made Television is to air a new 10-part documentary giving a rare insight into the pressures faced by paramedics and doctors on the road.

Produced by Raw Cut, A&E On The Road will follow the West Midlands Ambulance Service over a six-month period, following the medics as they tackle everything from street stabbings to motorbike accidents and suspected heart attacks.

The series has also been acquired by BBC One Daytime which will air a five-part version later this year.

Jamie Conway, CEO of Made Television, said: “People across Britain have a great deal of admiration for those involved with the emergency services and we’re delighted to have this opportunity to provide an untainted glimpse of what it’s really like behind-the-scenes.”

Launching on May 15th, A&E On The Road will air across the Made Television network in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, North Wales, Teesside and Tyne & Wear.

Steve Warr, Raw Cut’s executive producer, said: “Our reputation is for creating authentic, gritty documentaries that provide a journalistic overview of what it is really like to work within the blue light profession.

“We are extremely proud of this series, which gives a rigorous, immersive account of the trials and tribulations of paramedics in the West Midlands.”
