Little Britain removed from streaming platforms

Sensibly placed on the website, under the guidance section but on the iPad it feels very much a last-minute quick fix as it just uses the standard iOS alert prompt when you click to watch (with no exit button in case you strangely have a sudden change of heart!). I imagine a future update will match the website.


A commonsense answer. It gives us the choice between watching and not watching instead of robbing us of the option. Now lets see which streaming services have the guts to follow suit.

Why was that not an option for Little Britain? Why is the message ok for some shows yet others get removed?

It is rather fascinating that a show that I could watch, and have previously watched, on Britbox and iPlayer, and was also available on DVD from Amazon, less than a week ago, has now been completely removed from all three sites (the DVD listings seem to have been deleted).

The sketches I found most revolting in Little Britain were Gary and Jason (the David Walliams character in the first series who's in love with his friend's grandmother).


Its not just amazing its terrifying at the speed at how programmes can be cleared. Its as if Britbox et al are saying "lets pretend they were never there... Wrong idea



Its like ITV with Jezza Kyle show. Removed off tv quicker than you can fill in a benefits claim form, all traces removed from the hub, ITV2, the offical youtube channel and other social media. As if it all never existed.


Reminds me of of NBC wiped every remnant of Conan O'Brien's brief tenure as host of The Tonight Show

It’s a small thing, but it shows they haven’t covered it up completely.

Channel 5 is showing a repeat of a clip show next week which features content from Little Britain, so it looks like recent events may not have much of an effect on repeats of clip shows which feature material from shows such as Little Britain, unless they've decided that the clips in this particular programme are still suitable for broadcast.

I think including clips in an archive show like this is a completely different situation to having episodes freely available on streaming platforms. Not that I’m condoning the removal of episodes from streaming platforms outright (I think a warning/disclaimer is enough), but including clips with context in clip shows shouldn’t be part of the same argument and I’d be very surprised if anything is removed from this repeat.

You make a very good point Flux and I hope you're right but what my concern is that it will be a case once again of the the cotton-wool brigade shrieking "stuff the content its wrong to show any of it under any circumstances"

Are we really debating whether a show about controversial TV shows will debate whether to show something controversial?

Considering how often these shows clutch at straws, they're probably thankful for the added notoriety.
