It's spoilt itself, both me and my mum think - it was fine last series but in the second series the humour's just got coarser and more profanity-oriented. We saw it happen in Phoenix Nights too; they think that because they get a second series commissioned it gives them some sort of licence to eff and blind all over the shop..... why does this happen? All it's achieving for me and mum is to consider stopping watching.

I think I've discovered an old secret recording of Katherine. Wink Wink Wink

I don't mind profanity being used in shows but in moderation so they retain some shock value. I am more liberal than the late Ms Whitehouse!

This is typical BBC though, isn't it!

Every 3 or 4 years, the BBC actually manages to produce a comedy programme that's actually rahter good. So why on earth does it need to be chopped around with, re-edited and fcuked with just so an apparantly "middle-class, family audience living in deepest Buckinghamshire" won't be 'offended'.

Christ almighty. These people aren't going to be 'offended' by pictures of hostages, dead bodies, bombs etc. which has just preceeded it on the 10 O' Clock News, but two comedy actors pretending to be WI women will shock and disturb?

Who the hell makes these bloody stupid BBC decisions?

Lorraine Heggesy , I assume, is the one behind this. She's seen it on BBC Two, realised she can get some good rating figures out of it, an has decided to put it on during pre-watershed prime-time. Presumably it will be shown after the current run of HIGNFY and French & Saunders will have finished. If so, why not puit it in one of their slots, were they can keep all of the 'offensive' bits in.
