No, he only sang in Charlie Chalk (including the theme tune). Michael Williams was the voice of Charlie and a few other characters.

What voice of the opening of Hi-De-Hi?

I think he means the 'Go To The Holiday Rock' theme tune.

Seems it was Ken Barrie doing an impression of Paul Shane.

I always assumed it was Paul Shane, it was released as a single by Paul Shane and the Yellowcoats.

Though I read somewhere that Paul Shane did the song at the end and Ken the opening titles, though why I've no idea

For series 1 only it was all ken. Then paul relased the song as a lp to cash in, and from series 2 his version was used as the credits. The a thread about that on here.

Ah, apologies for the confusion.

In an interview I heard yesterday with Ken's daughter on 5 Live, Tony Livesy ended up singing many tv adverts from the 70s, because he was delighted to discover during the interview that Ken sang the themes to so many classic ads from Smash to Martini.

Ken was clearly a busy and respected session singer for many years.
