As a footnote, how many celebrites would, when faced with an entire press corps camped on their front lawn, bring them a cup of tea?

Especially when the Media have been treating Ross like cr*p for the last few years, and lets face it probably responsible for him leaving the BBC in the first place. I'd have chucked bricks at them myself!

I've actually defended Ross to the people at work who have been slagging him off. I like his chatshow and his radio show. The man occsaionally doesn't know when to shutup, but those interviews tend to be the ones with people that I personally don't give a crap about like Ricky Gervais. When he interviews people I do want to know about, he always lets them get across what they want to. Like has been said also, it's not as if he's a celeb hosting 'Film 2009' with no idea what he's talking about, he knows the film world very well, so is a perfect host for that programme.

I hope he gets a decent gig elsewhere.

One trying to scout for a new job, and trying to curry favour with a press that was hostile towards him not so many months ago? Wink

I think Ross was engaging back in the day, when he actually made some decent documentaries for Channel 4. I think since moving to the BBC, he's become too self-important for my liking: Sometimes I think his chatshow is OK, but a lot of the time he's either fawning over his guests, or he's doing most the talking.

I suspect his decision to leave the BBC may have been 'encouraged', given his loss of popularity-- I believe the audience of his radio show has been on the slide since that incident.

I concede his film knowledge is superb though, and he was good presenter of the film show.
