I couldn't comment. All I know is that he was on Mids Today in about '94 or so

Well, I've just watched Jeremy Bowen on his series, Son of God, and he was excellent - much better than on Breakfast.

Did anyone else see it?

I did see it and it was fantastic. I don't normally watch 'those types' of programmes but got hooked right from the start. That scene where they were flying around the edge of the sea and suddenly walls, houses and a whole habour appears just took my breath away - a real credit to the graphics team. Can't wait for next weeks!

Cheers,
Asa

Oh no, Bowen's back!! He spoke to viewers today as if he were our parent - he shook his finger and said 'You will not drop litter!' He also said at the end that he was going to get a littler picker (he couldn'r even think of the name of it - he made some gesture with his hand) and pick up any litter he sees - perhaps this could be a new job for him. While Chris Eakin is presenting Breakfast, he can be going around the studio with his litter picker, making silly comments and giggles at different things!!

There you go! Problem solved! And Asa, yes I agree. He seems almost like a reasonably good presenter on his program. I'm impressed!

Jeremy Bowen needs to have his hair cut and get rid of that awful tash ! God only knows what he has stored in it! No wonder he slouches.
On second thoughts, perhaps the tash should present on it's own - at least it has a bit of per-hair-sonality!!!!

On a BBC trailer for BBC News (available from BBC News 24 section of TV Home) Jeremy says:

' As a journalist all you have got is your credibility, If you havent got that then your lost'

Is that Jeremy admitting to his own mistakes, you cant put 'credibilty' and 'Jeremy Bowen' into the one sentence!

Isnt is George Alaghia (I cannot spell his last name, so instead spelt it phonetically Smile) the one who says that?
Anyway, and I know you will all cringe at this.
Simon McCoy on Sunrise (Which pisses me off with it's 500 graphics on screen at one time) is by far the best morning presenter. Very funny, and authorative too.
And of course, not forgetting, Sunrise is the longest running breakfast show in the UK (of course that is out of the ones still going).
It was far better with Bob Friend on though.
And if you have ever seen American breakfast Tv you might kill yourself!
GMA for example, from ABC is truly dreadful.
It is worse than GMTV for god's sake!
'Ohh, let's wander over to GMA's kitchen and cook.... something...anyone know what we're cooking....um...'
NBC Today may be the longest running breakfast show in the world, but it is also dreadful! perhaps a little more newsy than GMA but still tat.
And as for CBS The Early Show, it is enough to make you want to be sick. Far worse than GMTV.
I mean, look at the website for heavens sake, on tomorrows show they are covering....
Easter Dinners!
A preview of that great show 'Survivor'
And a guide to food allergies!

Can't wait...

In support for the Today Show on NBC, you don't watch it for the news, you watch it for the 'soft' type stories and the interviews (which they get a lot of high profile ones). You also watch it for the presenters -- I think they are probably the best known ones in all of America -- Katie, Matt, Al, and Ann ( they even had a song made about it) BTW, Today was the first breakfast news show in the world -- I think it launched in the mid 50s and has been running ever since.

Many of you and including myself aren't great Jeremy Bowen fans but obviously some people at the beeb really like him as I found out in the letters column of Ariel

“The `news babes` at Radio York would like to enquire if there is a fan club for the lovely Jeremy Bowen? We have admired him from afar during his many years as Middle East correspondent but were to say the least `giddy` when we heard he'd be gracing our screens on Breakfast News. He just gets better. We love you Jeremy! It's the smile that does it.”

So it goes to show he does have a fan!
