ITV's six new idents

The Hook-a-Duck and Waltzer idents are pretty good. It only really works with interesting colour contrasts, allowing the logo to do its party trick.

The Balloon and Lifeboat ones are good examples of this too.

I don't particularly like the camera motion on Waltzer, but Hook-A-Duck is quite nice visually. I still don't rate the music much, in general.

Not the first time it's been compared, but seeing the Record Store ident earlier reminded me of the old Five ident.

I agree, it starts out well with the lights, but seems too fast paced later on.

They really need to make the music a lot more upbeat and fun. It doesn't suit the fairground idents to have slow music.

Is there no end to the additions this weekend?! I've heard tell that there was a bowling ident before YBF yesterday.

Surely this has to be a record for the number of new idents barring actual rebrands.

I agree - and some of the colour schemes are rather dull though. On the whole though this rebrand is working well for ITV and I guess spring has officially started. I guess most of these will be used for Spring/Summer, with a few originals hanging on in there too before more are released in the autumn.
