pop idol to hit tv screens in 2005

Pop Idol will be back for a third installment early next year, show judge Dr. Fox has confirmed.

The Doc, currently working on a new primetime series of his own for ITV, revealed that Simon Cowell, Nicki Chapman and Pete Waterman have already agreed to return after the two-year gap.

"It's a great show so I am very excited about it," Foxy told the Daily Star. "It's great because I get to sit back with my mates and have a laugh. You really do get to see some bad acts, it's hilarious."

There had been speculation over the show's future following the chart failure of most recent winner Michelle McManus, as well as Simon Cowell's occupation with the American version of the series.

"Pop Idol is ideal for finding new talent," Fox added. "Just look at Will Young, he is still around three years on from winning the competition. We need another one like him."

What so the x factor and Popstars and NOT IDEAL for finding new Talent?

How can you say 1 thing is IDEAL when there are another 2 programmes which are 95% the same. Anyway, POP Idol cannot be that IDEAL - the last so called winner (who the So called Know it all judges) helped get through to the final stages has been nothing but a flop!


More like he's praying there is another one like him. If the next "Winner" is as much a flop and fat michelle, pop Idol will be gone for good ! FACT!


looks like POP idol is only back because ITV have got to give Ant and dec so much stuff a year. (to kep them happy........and at the channel) and as it looks like I'm a celeb neds some time of, they have pulled pop idol out of the wood work. ITV would poo themselves if Ant and Dec movd back to the Beeb. It will be a day of morning for ITV!
