ITV Granada and Coronation Street to leave Manchester

One last time:

Granada and the Corrie set is currently in Manchester. Albeit on the border with Salford.
MediaCityUK is in Salford at Salford Quays.
The new Corrie set will be in Trafford, on the other side of the water. So ITV Granada newsroom and offices will be in Salford at MediaCityUK.
ITV are applying to Trafford Council for planning permission for the new Corrie site.

It is confusing as they are all so close. If you're from Greater Manchester you'll understand. Many people do just, incorrectly, say Manchester.

it is only 3 miles out of central Manchester in a different area, like Clapham and Bow are different areas of London, they're still in London

Eastenders is 13 miles from central London yet nobody says that Eastenders isn't in London
