I think only the West Midlands version uses a separate CA to promote a different programme...
...which was terrible! Badly aligned, wrong font, jumps when the transition started, BBC One logo when talking about BBC Four!
They also had the presenter say 'join us again next week at the same time' just seconds before their separate CA went 'Inside Out is back at the slightly later time of 8 O'clock;. Good work.

I wonder if any other local BBC station is using this ident? One has to wonder how there have managed to keep using and out of date ident from 5 years ago.
I believe most regions bolt the ident onto the front of their programmes in the edit, so it's possible the old version of Kites was still present in an old edit project and reused in error.

Wrong piece I know but why was kite re-edited? the circulars appear within 6 secs., plenty of time to get stuff out within 10-15 secs,
If I remember rightly, they re-edited quite a few of the original batch of idents, changing the music and also bringing the form up forward. ISTR the main aim was to bring the BBC One brand in earlier. I preferred the original music on Helicopter (very Silent Witness-y), but the later version of Kites was far better than those string stabs IMO. I think it was at the same time that Moon was relegated to Obit duties (and I think therefore never seen again). Magic Forest also was reworked but not redelivered to the regions, so was consequently lost from the regional portfolio. Regions now have Capes, Kites and Copter as their three "News Idents".
