Just visited price-drop.tv's website and came across an important message.

Its saying that you have to re-tune your freeview boxes on october 1st and not before. Is this something to do with ITV 3 launching soon?

Well I'm no Quincy or Inspector Wexford, but frankly it looks like price-drop.tv is staying on DTT (Because Sit-up.tv make s*it loads of money from it) and bid-up is bidding farewell to DTT (Because its not cutting the mustard compared to price-drop.tv).

It bet Sit-up.tv are wishing they started Price-drop.tv ages ago instead of fannying about with Bid-up, which makes pence compared to price-drop which makes POUNDS for the company!

I believe Bid-Up will make way for abc1 in Wales whilst PriceDrop will move to Mux A (SDN) and be unavailable in Wales, like QVC was.

So its 1st Oct, and last night Price-drop KEPT saying retune tomorrow so you dont miss out on great savings (Or in other words, so they dont miss out on profit coming their way), so has anyone retuned yet???

If so what has happened, Has price-drop moved number? Has bid--up gone?

Anyone got any info??

I have just done the rescan, price-drop is still on channel 24, but the original price-drop with the rescan message is now on 34.

So what MUX is price-drop on now? The old one was on the ITV/C4 Mux, where is it Now?? Not SDN....Please....!

What about Bid-up?? Is that Gone......or is it going to go???????

Price-drop is now on SDN and Bid-up still exists, making a total of 8 streams on the mux. It does look lower quality than before, but the other SDN channels look about the same. The 'Please rescan' message is still broacasting on price-drop's old slot on D3&4, without an LCN. This means on most boxes it will appear at 800, but it does vary from box to box.

So my speculation in the other thread, that they're making space ready for ITV3 doesn't look far from the truth then.

It would look that way yes. Although bear in mind the stream vacated by price-drop is wholly owned by Channel 4. ITV3 may be leasing that stream from C4, or perhaps there is another space left on the mux? After all pretty much everyone thought SDN was full already.

I'm a little confused here. I was surfing the Freeview channels with my Hauppage card and price-drop.tv is on channel 24... however the channel is telling me to re-tune to find price-drop.tv on it's new location of channel 24?

The channel is keeping the same LCN (logical channel number), but is being carried on a different multiplex, hence the need for a retune

It would appear that the bundle of bits that used to head for channel 24 no longer has a label on it.

A new bundle of bits that used not to have a label on it, has, from today, been given the label of channel 24.

Hence, if you do a re-scan, the lovely caption will be replaced by Price Dive Television on channel 24 and the caption will move off to channel 800, or wherever your decoder puts bundles of bits that don't have a label.

Does that make any sense, as it sounds damn good at this end and I'm just a Luddite?
