Hush now. Laughing

Hopefully they'll pick up some awards at the BSA's this year. James for Best Newcomer and also they should get Best Storyline because it really has been excellent. I haven't enjoyed Hollyoaks as much as I have done for the past few months.

Although they deserve recognition - not just for this storyline but for things like the fire, Justin/Becca and Max/Claire - I couldn't care less if they won a British Soap Awards as EastEnders' dominance of them means they have no credibility what so ever.

I think the fact the ratings are reflecting how much the show has improved over the last 18 months is the real reward - especially when you consider how the average ratings of Corrie, Emmerdale and EastEnders have consistantly fallen over recent years.

Good point. I know a lot of people who have started watching and are completely gripped and actually surprised by how good the show is. IMO, it is currently putting the 'big three' to shame.

I agree... it is a show that covers all sorts of issues that are realistic and relevant to today's society. It can help the younger generation with issues, and is not as far fetched as the "big three"..down to earth!

I am enjoying the John Paul storyline at the moment. Its far far better than the Corrie Karl/Todd storyline ever was.

Im also liking the storyline with Becca at the moment - tonights E4 episode was good.

I agree about the Corrie/Karl storyline. It was good but had so many flaws. I think the Hollyoaks storyline is so much better. I'm really loving the show at the moment. it's certainly on a roll.

Me too. Its excellent at the moment.

This storyline is more realistic that the Corrie one was IMO and the characters of John Paul is likeable unlike Karl in Corrie.

Funny how you agree with someone who agrees with you - don't you agree? Laughing

Well 02cashindavid and I usually disagree Wink

I agree I hope they win a few awards, however they never usally win much due to the competition from EE and Corrie.

I agree with you about the soap awards. The fact people keep voting for Eastenders most of the time means they are a joke. I also think Hollyoaks stands no chance whatsoever winning Best Soap due to viewing figures being low compaired to the other British Soaps (apart from Doctors). Mind you I was surprised when Jodie Albert won a viewer voted award a few years back.

Although that was for sexiest female. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Hollyoaks hasn't got a hope in hell of winning Best Soap, but I was thinking about the categories which are decided by a panel. They won Best Storyline last year and could win it again this year. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and Claire should also win Best Bitch. Cool

I think the fact Hollyoaks have only won that award once or twice in something like 10 years highlights how much of a joke they are, especially as they often lost out to Jessie Wallace.

No chance of Claire being the villian - that'll go to Tracy or Charlie as usual, and Claire is quite nice compared to Andy last year!

I think they have a "Best episode" category as well - and I know I've been here a few times after various episodes and said that one is deserving, but I think above the fire and the Christmas episode I'd say Baby Grace's death around May last year was the best single episode.
