We might find out if BBC Sport has any special graphics tonight for the World Cup my guess usual BBC Sport graphics with a slight alteration like the do with the Olympic rings for the Olympics. Also still hoping the BBC has its own graphics feed this time around.

Unless they have a brand new graphics set I'd rather they used the official graphics

I disagree if the FIFA package is anything like it usually is which I think it is with added green, the BBC package usually looks slicker on screen and it's nice the national broadcaster can have that consistency.

The BBC titles have just premiered on BBC News for World Cup Sportsday.

Should be on iPlayer's live restart for a while.

New style ending for BBC Sport title sequences too it seems. May herald new glass effect graphics.

Someone on DS posted a link to this on Thomas Gent's Twitter account. Looks looks a nice blend of the BBC Sport brand and a Brazilian theme.

That's lovely! I really hope ITV will have something like that seeing as I will be watching more of them.

Any reason why?

ESPN World Cup preview show is on right now. The purpose built ESPN studio must be in or near the BBC location. The view from the ESPN studio is nearly identical. It must sit just to the right of the BBC set. Also when ESPN switches to the studio portions of the program you can hear waves crashing in the background. Not sure if its glass behind the desk and they are adding the audio or if its open air with netting or screens of some sort. ESPN is going to use the same orchestral theme they used for 2010 san the African drums and singing. Nice animated sequence. They also just introduced Lindsay Hipgrave from BTSport helping with their coverage this year. They have also introduced Ruud Van Nistlerooy and Michael Ballack (again) as part of the coverage team.

update- as it gets dark, its definetly glass. ESPN has pulled up the sun screens that covered the windows. Now you can see the reflection from inside the studio on the glass. No sure where the sound of the waves is coming from.

They just toured outside the studio. You can definitely see the BBC structure standing right to the left of the ESPN structure on Copacabana Beach.

Well they are showing more matches - 34 compared to 31 on the BBC.

This is the location of the ESPN Studio with is built on the beach connected to the front of the Clube dos Marimbás, to the right of that carpark. BBC structure is built on the beach just to the right where you see those cluster of boats on the sand.

Here is the BBC structure under construction. Looks like they constructed it hanging over the roadway or a bike path or something.

Here is the finished Broadcast structure. You can see the ESPN compound to the left. Obviously BBC is sharing this space with other Broadcasters.

As well as the opening ceremony and the third place play off. Obviously I won't be watching every match but lots of important things are on ITV.

Most wouldn't consider the 3rd place play off as important most don't even like the idea of it.
