WHAT ON EARTH is THIS all about?

Are they in character? Is it supposed to be behind the scenes?

It's naff...

And I am starting to get very sick of Shane Ritche... the brass 'Freddie Star-esq way about him got up the noses of TV execs and viewers alike until just a year ago but now he's the favoured EasterEnders star...

As I'm watching... it's getting worse and worse... some bits are like TOTP, some are like a late night talk show set in a pub...

The whole thing is poor.

Just because it's the nation's favourite soap, we're not that easily passed of with so-called 'Entertainment' just because its from the EastEnders set, Miss Lorraine 'BBC ONE' Hegwhatever...

It might not be your fav but it gets the most viewers most weeks = it can be classed as the nation's fav soap. Duh

I agree. Christmas entertainment on BBC One has sunk to a new low. A dodgy supposedly "funny" show with a cast of people who cannot really act ....really!!

Some of it is a bit embarrassing, particularly the bits where they burst into song completely unexpectedly (i.e. most of it) but some of it is quite nice in a self-indulgent Christmas way.

However I heard this was all done to appease all the EE stars who wanted to do panto and weren't allowed to, so they're given this and a big payment to shut them up...

Well its not a new idea really, if anyone goes back to 1986 there were Eastenders new year specials.

I can't remember much of it but I remember "Den and Angie" hosting the party in the vic.

its just a modern version of that really.
