From that promo, I'm seeing an American-ised and colourful Daybreak (Judging by the colours used for the panels behind, and the bright red chair). The "oh my God we're having such a good time" presenter set up used for the ad says it all on the American front. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNjmFA6ArFU&feature=related - y'get'me?

As crazy as a song about a breakfast show sounds, that's quite catchy.

I think that 'Today' promo though looks way more cheesy than the Daybreak one posted, which reminds me more of this:

I like that promo! And I hope, just a tiny bit, that ITV have let NBC 'extend their 'TODAY' brand into the UK', just a tiny hope!

Huh?

Exactly what I have said..? I hope ITV have let NBC extend their TODAY branding into the UK?

I think he means "I hope NBC let ITV use their Today brand in the UK instead of Daybreak".

oh yeah, the Americans always have things how I like my pizzas... with extra cheese! I never thought of the GMTV relaunch promo. Probably more like it. However, as nice as I think the promo is, it's a bit obscure. It's just gonna go over the average viewers head

If you mean because there isn't any text or voiceover, I think that's probably because it's a rough cut. I doubt they'd have an advert with no ITV1 branding whatsoever. That would be madness!

I like how he has the channel logo on his sole. That's dedication.

I've seen an opening from this year where they've cut the words out completely and only using the instrumental.

Seems odd that there's no sight of Kate Garraway anywhere in that 'Promo' will she even be a part of the new show? If I were her I'd give it ul to be honest ITV obviously don't want her having a too big role on breakfast tv. She can't even be chose as the Presneter on the GMTV copycat show, I hope she leaves and moves on to other things. I like Kate though and I wish her well.

On another note, has anyone thought tht maybe this relaunch is to gage how popular this new show is and possibly replace Lorraine at a later date if the shows successful? It's almost a certainty that Lorraine won't do Bank Holidays, Summer time, School Holidays or Fridays so a secondary presenter will needed if not two. And if other presenters (like Helen etc.) work alongside Aled and get decent ratings, they could take the regins from Lorraine. The fact that their keeping Lorraines own show, could easily play along to a ' I'm focusing on my show now ' sort of style.

As noted already in one of these Daybreak threads, Kate will deputise Lorraine, presumably presenting Friday's and school holidays.

Gethin Jones is the stand-in for Aled supposedly. The above Vimeo snippet implies he, Richard Arnold etc will become faces of Daybreak.

No indication on newsreader(s)/weather forecaster though.
