Looks like he's back on our screens again - just seen him doing the weather after The World. Any ideas on how long he's back for this time? and what he's going to be doing? (news 24 overnight/regions again?) Razz

Also, anyone know whats happened to Isobel Lang? - She must have left a couple of years ago now? and still isn't back?? Confused

Oh, no.

He behaves like a frustrated extrovert, all inanities and generalities.

Terrible weatherman (IMHO).

Fantastic! Dan's fabulous! I remember he appeared on BBC World at exactly the same time last year - July 2003! I think he stayed until about October 2003.

I haven't seen him on World yet, although I haven't seen the channel this afternoon.

Has a whole year gone by already?! Shocked

Nice to see him back, no one quite like him.

Not sure if Michael Fish is going for some Corbetisms but on the 10.30 forecast, Fish was saying about " how bad the weather is going to get and how it's going to be like October rather than July and how some woman from Wales rung up but anyway "

No smile from him but makes a change from his usual stuffy image he projects

He's not a patch on Dan though, with his "troublemakers", "heat spots", and "swarms of ants"!! And those are the Corbettisms, FOR NOW!

Yeah I've been wondering about her. Been a very long maternity leave! She still has a profile on the BBC weather site so perhaps she will return at some point.

Plus Dan's other little phrases "tippy tippy tops", "take a brolly with you", "too warm for a sweater, perhaps a cardigan would be OK", and of course "that's the weather.... for now!"

Lol - I remember on one BBC World weather forecast last year, he said "If you're thinking of taking a picnic to the park in Riyadh, make sure you take the suncream..."!!

He's dreadful. Truly the worst ever- mind you, Jay Wynne is giving him a cccccccclose rrrrrun for his er-moneeee. That's right, Jay- keep-a-singin' the weather in that dee-jay stylee.

Other people in this division are Penny Tranter, Darren Bett, Sarah Wilmshurst and Peter Cockroft.

Luckily, we still have Michael Fish, Helen Willetts, Alex Deakin, Peter Gibbs and Carol Kirkwood.

The thing is, most of those forecasters you mention send me to sleep. Dan actually keeps you awake, and you remember some of the information he's telling you! Another like this is Everton Fox - he keeps you awake!

I forgot to mention the excellent Rob McElwee.

The likes of Dan Corbett asume we're all idiots.
