I used to watch CITV and all that in the early 90's for Knightmare and Bad Influence, but now at 15 it doesnt appeal anymore, apart from How 2 which is vaguely informative and has the master of televison Fred 'Good Egg'' Dineage on it.

Back in my childhood (80's, early 90's) CITV was really the only one to watch with shows like Knightmare and Round the Bend (basically a kid's version of Viz done by the Spitting Image team). Only good thing on CBBC was Going Live! and I suppose the broom cupboard. Oh, OK, and I supose one or two of the sci-fi drama thingies, but most of the time CITV was better, especially when Tommy Boyd was doing it.

I prefer Bravo's Gamepad for various reasons(!)

I saw a bit of that, and does Violet Berlin look different or what??!? Didn't recognise her till I heard her voice... Anyway, Bad Infulence was good but GamesMaster was much better, I think. Especially because Bad Influence always used these annoying kids who didn't seem to know much about games to do the reviews. And GamesMaster was very funny, even if all the jokes were about pants...

By the way, about that comment about Channel 5 further up the page - I seem to live in some bizzare negative part of the country where on analouge all the other channels are a bit fuzzy with fairly poor reception, but Channel 5 is the only one that's crystal clear!

Did you know she is married to former Big Bang co-host Gareth Jones, yes from How 2.

No, I didn't know that! I remember him back from when he was only known as Gaz Top (!) and he presented Get Fresh.

I like watching Channel 5 at that time. You see Im in one of the areas of the country that gets the special Analogue interactive version, with games.

Basically the game is 'Guess the programme' which I have to do by looking at the vague fuzzy outlines I recieve. Its tremendous fun!!!

I don't get that here. I just get a very clear channel. I do get to play it when I'm at my Gran's in Tyneside

Here in the North East for the most part anyway, CH5 is broadcast from a different transmitter to the main ITV/BBC one, it means you need an additional aerial or a high gain one and I think people
(a) dont know that they can get CH5 at all
(b) make do with a fuzzy picture
(c) get it on cable
(d) get in on Sky
(e) get it on ITVD

I know quite a lot of people who dont have any of the above and didnt know they could get an extra channel by tweaking their aerial. Presumably CH5 arent bothered paying to advertise the fact, just wait for sat & dtt take up to increase.

Whatever happened to CITV2 at the weekend on ITV2 because that just suddenly stopped. I thought that was OK but I'm 15 now and CITV looks really crap.

Now then, back in the days of MY childhood, before the neames Citv and CBBC were even thought of, ITV was still bad.

In those days, Citv was called 'Watch IT,' and CBBC was called... erm... BBC1!

If we were here debating the channels in that era (if you know what I mean), we would be discussing how Blue Peter was miles better than Magpie, and if you were a Swap Shop viewer or Tiswas.

The only shows I watched on 'Watch It,' were 'Runaround,' and the original 'How.'

Anyone else remember how awful 'Watch It' presentation was? How the local companies still controlled output with dodgy filmed idents and hastily faded out for announcer bumpers?

I've got some clean Watch it titles from TVS and some watch it from TVS. When the music stops it's back to the continuity desk where the continuity announcers were more patronising then the CBeebies presenters. Wink
