CITV

I wasn't sure whether to include this in the ITV Discussion Thread, but they are looking to introduce new logos for CITV & the new under 5's strand 'mini CITV'.

The new logos are appearing at the moment on screen, the mini CITV one appears at the end of a trailer for the new strand, and the standard CITV one is seen jumping around the screen briefly in between programmes. The logo's are based on a TV design & are just shown as a flat image at the moment, whether this will change will need to be seen.

I'm not too sure on the look of it at the moment, it looks very basic, and I was just getting used to the triangular design. I think it's the flat logo that's not doing it for me. If it was a 3D animated character maybe it would look a lot different. The one thing that I don't understand is why they're going the ITV1 way and going yellow.

It looks as if the changes are going to happen from 2nd November, the Monday following half term, and the proposed date for ITV News' update.

It looks as if they're going down that line.
The white characters are going to be used within the mini CITV block, I am curious as to what the 5 yrs+ is going to do.

I look at CITV & think it's such a shame as to what has happened, the launch of the channel showed good promise, except for the fact that they then slowly dropped the programming on ITV1, and got rid of the main Saturday morning programme & then the Saturday Morning slot.

I've noticed quite recently that they are using the same announcements, especially for a while where the final announcement of the day was the same that was the same terrible joke, come back early noughties.

I think this rebrand is ill-thought out; the new logo isn't appealing to look at, the colours are oddly subdued and they'll struggle to find interesting ways to use it. I thought the superhero theme was a sound idea but they really haven't used it to its full potential.

Do kids really need another channel?

It's not a channel it's a strand.
