Haven't we strayed way off topic here. Personally I think this thread should be locked until mid-September at least.
What? Less than five months left as of midnight.
It's ridiculous... I thought Christmas started December, silly me These days Easter starts straight after Christmas too
BTW, it should be "
fewer
than five months"-- sorry to be pedantic
Don't even get me started on Easter!
And to the person who said that talking about Christmas should be banned until December, I think that's too harsh. It should just be shops selling Christmassy things that can wait until then. You can't really ban people from talking about something. Besides, I'd rather talk about that than this hot, sticky, horrible season called summer.
noticed the 'back to school signs' in the shops already, give the kids a break, they only finished for the summer last Friday (plus I want my seven weeks off)
what's the rush, at this rate we'll be celebrating the coming of the 3rd millennium in 2090

Too right, we should have started this at Easter

You can't really ban people from talking about something.
How far do you want to test that supposition?
OK, let me refine that to "You can't really ban people from talking about something that isn't considered controversial." And I don't think Christmas could be considered as such.
Besides, banning people on here doesn't mean they won't be able to talk about it on another website, or indeed in person. I'm not encouraging anything here, by the way!
stevek - here in Norn Irn, the schools finish on 30th June, and the Back to School stuff was in the shops a good two weeks before that date...
Aaaagghh!
