It's like Channel 4 in the mornings...

Would be good to see more older shows though like in the Paramount days. I remember watching Rhoda on there in the early 00s, and Paramount Comedy 2 was effectively a channel of 70s and 80s ITV sitcoms.

Paramount Comedy 2 use to show UK comedies at night ie Spitting Image, Rab C Nesbitt (to name a couple I remember) but the way Comedy Central/Extra is run most of the time ie Friends when one channel finishes the other then runs more.... I wouldn't mind more variety even on these channels but its a waste of time! (OK i'm glad they are repeating Everybody Loves Raymond/King of Queens but there is no need in overlapping the schedule on both ... keep the programmes to one channel (if possible)

In more off-topic news, MTV is showing music again! They have some music-related programmes followed by either the Top 40 or a random countdown in the mornings (except for Sundays).

Does the M stand for Music Television?? (sarcastic of course), it strikes me as odd ever since they dropped VH1 suddenly MTV has minor changes? ie air Daria from the 90s is on Sundays (previous was everyday)

from 6am:
Vidiots (heard of this)
Crash Karaoke (what is that?)
Say it in a song (again what?)

Side note, but MTV Germany is more of a mix of both rather than just programming and no music. The majority of their content is also shown uncensored. So yesterday, there was a broadcast of Jay Z's "The Story Of OJ" completely uncut which, given the day and what's happening in America, was either accidental or very risky/brave. They also show Childish Gambino's "This Is America" but oddly it is censored both for language and the video. There isn't any logic to their editing.

The thing for me (I'm out of the MTV demo these days in general), it just seems a channel completely lost in direction in programming, MTV UK goes from Teen Mom to The Challenge to a programme related to the Mafia families and then featuring True Crime, I understand its trying to cover every genre but to then bring back a bit of music in the day (early morning) it just looks lost --- I took it that because they ripped the M legs off and dropped Music Television it was more focused to reality tat than music (music focused on its sister stations) but on the other they already tried this approach I think a few years ago then it just reverted back to what it was previously, I just wonder if MTV is seeing a bit of a decline if they are changing the schedules? (just saying this as opinion)

Correct, a year or two ago they started airing the Top 40 on Saturday mornings, but I don’t think it lasted for long.

MTV has actually been showing music on and off for a while now, normally in the mornings at the weekend, and occasionally in the evenings.

It may have been increased recently as a way of filling gaps in the schedule.

Yet its strange that as of recent with their MTV 80s/MTV 00s the original logo is making a comeback?, in regards to music videos in between gaps I guess its a rarity they play music before the next programme starts? I have seen the MTV Push short but thats not exactly playing the song in full its just a brief 60-90 seconds?

I remember a while back when I seen a Stormzy video on MTV but its onscreen graphics was shocking (compared to the ones that played the music!) -- does anyone have a screencap of what the graphics look like on the main channel playing videos?

Thats about right, so why if it failed then trying it again? Short on content or has viewers been complaining asking them to put music on? I remember in the late 00s when MTV started to focus more on reality the music was shunted but for me its the sudden interest in putting music on the main channel again why? MTV already has music on the other channels, I thought that was the whole point MTV moved away from it? They had VH1 look how quick that descended and ran into the ground (lack of on screen updates ie if MTV channels had a refresh VH1 was looking more like 2006!), they changed format to what I would describe was MTV2 (just used for old MTV/BBC 3/Channel 5 shows) and then it was axed... Yet MTV is actually playing music more in its output during the day?

In relation to Channel 5 do we think The Golden Girls will actually be shown on Comedy Central in near future? I don't see why it can't be repeated on either CC or CCExtra if they are repeating the other shows mentioned?

I imagine The Golden Girls is probably too old skewing for CC.

Just a pity as it would for me return to the channel(s), if it appeared but I guess you are right - so it seems then CC comedy is only going as far back as 1996? (Friends 1994 also Fresh Prince 1990) Depending on if they have plans to dig deeper into the decade, I just think if CC/Extra had a better variety in its output I would find the channels watchable but ever since its been non stop friendsathon (for god knows) the channels have been a turn off.

I listed Fresh Prince as I forgot that has done the rounds ie 5Star/CC but thats the earliest in the 90s they have went back, I guess thats why I suggested Golden Girls being repeated on the CC channels (could see it if not there on 5Star then CC if that was the case)

I use to watch a few shows like Bobs Burgers and Impractical Jokers but haven't watched Bobs Burgers on there in a while.
