Thank goodness for that! Those trees replacing the 4 was beginning to send me insane. You have to admit, an outline of a tree in a square with a coloured background is hardly festive is it? I was thinking the Channel 4 bosses were turning into scrooges.

The page has a small gallery of C4 logos reworked for Christmas here: http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/C/christmas/gallery.html under the headline "IS NOTHING SACRED?"

Am I the only one who actually liked the Xmas 4 idents? I thought they were a fantastically simple and effective way of incorporating the 4 logo into a Christmas theme...

I quite liked them - even after a long time, but didn't want to say anything for the endless hurls of abuse, the threatening letters and the nerve gas through the letterbox.

I quite liked the logo in the box as it was simple and incorporated Christmas well, I just wasn't keen on the idents, after so many years they could have changed them yet encorporated the same logo.
Made of lights, eh?
Sounds interesting, can't wait to see it myself. Hopefully they won't go for an alternative Christmas Ident, or if they do I hope they don't use them over the whole Christmas Period, as most of the shows aren't alternative, it would be as bad as Disney airing sea related idents throughout December because of the premiere of Finding Nemo.

I've just seen the trailer, and none of the programmes seem that alternative, though I do like the logo at the end and the use of the symbols.
It will be interesting to see what they do in way of idents.
I presume that the trailers will have an effect added so that the text sparkles on like in the preview, thus why promos like Kim & Aggie ehave plain white text with no shadow or edge.
