Sorry to split hairs, but the anno was actually, 'As we cross to London for the chimes of Big Ben this is Amanda Youngs wishing you a happy and peaceful 2002 on behalf of everyone working here tonight at Carlton' http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

For years Central's continuity was dominated by male announcers - they had no female voices for several years (once Hilary Holden defected to Carlton London mid-1993) - so the arrival of Amanda and occasional days with Su Evans are quite refreshing.

I actually think Amanda does quite a good job.
