Why when we've our own regional idents (thank god) do we still get a Carlton ident in to a programme, going in to part two of This Morning the announcer said HTV, but it was a Carlton Ident, I know they are owned by Carlton but we've got our own regional idents for god sake, why oh why?

Oh for gods sake, this has been mentioned many times before in numerous threads. Its just a case of teh wrong ident being played out from the server, there is no malice in this and Carlton are most unlikely to replace the HTV name with Carlton. Can you just calm down and stop creating threads abou this, I swear there have been about 10.

How many times has this happened now? Did both HTV's (Wales and West) get the Carlton ident too?

Ah right, so HTV's pictures come from Birmingham, ok I am confused again, so where's do Westcountry's idents come from, I know the announcement is done in Plymouth, I thought it came from HTV Wales didn't it, but if HTV Wales get their idents from Birmingham, then Westcountry idents must come from there as well?http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif

Idents for HTV Wales are played from Central and announced from Cardiff.
Surely we've been down this road before? (how many times is it now!!!!)
HTV wales and Carlton westcountry is broadcast from Cardiff whereas Carlton central have absolutely nothing to do with these transmissions! (everyone knows this!!!)
Im sure HTV west still comes from Southhampton though!
PS it always seems to go wrong when the camp announcer is on!

i know how you guys feel. we've got the carlton logo too and good though it looks i want the central logo back.
i hope HTV aren't forced to take on the carlton logo for good.

I'll be glad when Carlton scrap the HTV logo. Harlech Television is a naff name for a television company anyway!

Ill think you'll find that the tv station isnt called Harlech television ANYWHERE - the limited company name is HTV ! it was changed years ago to satisfy the harlech west television viewers!
personally i think htv has got a good sound about it and their idents have always been the best - they are the only station throughout 2001 to have quality idents (which did change many times!)
Whilst intensely irritating (living in a GMG North region I can sympathise with your plight in Wales re continuity cockups!!) it is fairly straightforward why the fault is happening. Cardiff is producing the transmission for Westcountry and HTV Wales, therefore the Carlton idents are loaded into the servers in Cardiff. It just takes the wrong ident code to be entered (fairly easy I should imagine when you have as many idents as Carlton/HTV do!!) and bang! Carlton ident on HTV.
The only thing that confuses me is why there are no reports of HTV idents on Westcountry? Is it just because not as many people live in the South West (surely not)?
