Hello, I was just wondering if someone could confirm where 'Call My Bluff' is
filmed
. It said at the end of today's programme that it was from BBC Birmingham but isn't this just where the post production takes place?
I know that 'Going for a song' used to be filmed at Pebble Mill, but did the other similar daytime shows on BBC1also come from here?
If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be very grateful. Thanks
BBC Tickets website a couple of months ago gave the recording location as the Captial Group Studios down in Wandsworth.
Infact I don't even think the last Bob Holness hosted series of CMB was recorded at Pebble Mill - I've got a vauge recollection that is was recorded on location at the ICC in the centre of Birmingham.
could someone possibly confirm whether or not CMB is filmed in front of a live audience? - just we have the laughter but nobody ever looks at the audience and we never see the audience (Unlike for example Have I Got News For You when we see the audience and the presenters interact with them)
I guess that CMB uses canned laughter but Id like it to be confirmed if anyone knows.
CMB is definitely not recorded at BBC Birmingham as the studios there have closed. The Mailbox only has one regional television studio for Midlands Today. The programme is merely produced by BBC Birmingham.
AFAIK, the programme does have a live audience though ...
I think you will find that "Call My Bluff" is a BBC Birmingham production, not a production made IN Birmingham...
It is perfectly conceivable for a BBC Birmingham production to be made in Manchester or London, using either 3Sixty, BBC Resources or other facilities. The BBC Birmingham end credit just describes the home base of the production team.
BBC Manchester have produced live specials from studios at TV Centre in London on a number of occasions.
