Rodrigo deserved the boot. You don't go around calling people a n*****!

I genuinely don’t believe he meant it in the way that we would normally associate the word. His use of the word clearly wasn’t intended to be derogatory and you can see that from the context in which it was said. I don’t feel he should be condemned unless there was clear malice in what he said... Overall, he seemed like a nice person with a good heart and I just feel he has issues that he is struggling to overcome. Credit to him for keeping a smile on his face when he is constantly ridiculed for the way he looks, that takes character.

Really disappointed that Natalie and Rodrigo have now gone as they were shaping up to be the big characters this series! Seems like we are left with a bunch of people that don’t have a personality between them. I know some people prefer when the housemates get along but it’s much more entertaining for me when the drama is at level 10. I don’t want to see showmances, I want confrontation! Just look at CBB17 for a genuinely genius mix of housemates... Drama was guaranteed from day 1! I particularly like Angie’s diary room breakdown and Tiffany calling Gemma a fat c*nt. TV Gold

It is interesting how people differ. If we all had the same opinions the world would become a boring place. For me I'd rather see how people naturally interact without casting the programme for drama and confrontation. I don't find any entertainment in confrontation, it usually makes me feel sorry for one person and makes me cringe - probably why I'm not a fan of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
People will naturally not get along for me this makes more interesting viewing, part of the reason why I've been watching a lot of the original 2000 series on YouTube.

I believe that you're right, unfortunately it has become part of his vocabulary, but that doesn't mean that he can use such language. Even if he is not aware of the connotations of the word Big Brother gave him a warning within the first couple of days about the use of the word and explained clearly to him what would happen if it was used again.

Nope. Not having it. N***** is N***** - Rodrigo shouldn't have been using it in the first place, whether he meant it maliciously or not.

What is really disrespectful is producers not clarifying why he went, leaving him open to all sorts of unfounded accusations.

Personally I've always felt with BB the process should deal with such issues and better to see HMs challenge it and individuals learn from it rather than just throw them to the wolves.

Anyway, tried to watch a bit this week and just physically can't watch the show I used to love anymore. There is no point in trying to create the C4 vibe if Marcus is just going to scream all over it. Whatever happens next to BBUK it needs to be without Marcus Bentley.

Also C5 refusing to come out and openly axe it sums up how little respect they have for the show.

It feels like the show lost its wheels the second Stormy Daniels pulled out and has never recovered since. Channel 5 have basically admitted they built the show around her and it now appears they don't know where to go next. Part of me feels slightly sorry for them, but part of me feels they've been incredibly naive in depending on one person to behave exactly as the producers need her to in the world of celebrity (or, indeed, in the world of human beings).

Had Stormy Daniels been in, then the entire initial build-up of having her as president would have got them huge publicity. I imagine they'd have been hoping for international publicity, which is probably going a bit far, but certainly within the UK it would have got the media navel-gazers talking and writing about it. From there, the build a wall task, depending on how it was handled, could have been somewhat less distasteful - no-one's going to confuse her with being a Trump supporter.

Beyond the tasks you'd imagine that, while she wouldn't give everything away, there would be a lot of Trump discussion and a lot of social issues discussion. The social issues in the last series, and the way they were reasonably discussed between the likes of Courtney Act and Anne Widdecombe - and the others, who genuinely wanted to understand - really seemed to capture viewers' imagination and on the surface at least go back to the original idea of social experiment. The morals and ethics of Stormy Daniels current situation are perfect for this. Maybe she worked that out before she decided to get out.

This year, whether it's because of Stormy pulling out or despite it, we seem to have gone back several years to an era where you've got a combination of quite a few people it's very difficult to like and some who seem incredibly fragile. You're occasionally sitting sober watching a bunch of drunk people on TV being as boring as drunk people in a pub when you're sober often are.

I am no fan of Love Island - I generally hate "aspirational" TV which exists to make your life ****. Having had to watch it for work, however, I can see why people would rather watch it than Big Brother. Incredibly good looking people, romance, social issues, a very clever soundtrack (musically and with a commentator essentially taking the piss Eurovision-style) and actual storylines.

Channel 5 needs to go away and work out what Big Brother is there for. Because if they're just going to reprise a series from 2012 or something the figures are going to go off a cliff. My concern would be that there are execs who just see the show as below them and put it on because it gets decent figures, so don't understand how to fix it and are just looking for an excuse to pull the plug.

Well I have to say this "build a wall task" was probably as distasteful as it gets. Regardless if Ms Clifford (Stormy Daniels) was in the house or not. I dont think desparate peoples lives should be trivialized for a tv show. Thats just my personal viewpoint. I fail to see how her presence would have justified doing it. Even if it was in support of the migrants. Would it have been appropriate to do a game based on the African/Middle East migrants coming to Europe across the Mediterranean with some drowning on the way over? No so I fail to see the why someone thought this "Wall" game was appropriate. I dont think it was funny or cute or humourous. I think it was clearly designed to be controversial and to desperately drive some gasping interest in the dying ORIGINAL format of Big Brother. IMO Ch4 probably should have adopted the Canadian and American format and made it more a gameshow. But its too late now. LOVE ISLAND has clearly take the surveillance-camera-reality show crown. Because clearly the interest for the ORIGINAL Big Brother format is waning in the UK with its free falling ratings. Probably too late to right the ship Im afraid. Just my two pence.

I think the key word is that it “could” have been less distasteful had she been there. It’s possible it could have been every bit as bad, but I suspect hasty/crisis decision making when she pulled out didn’t help.

I dont think degrees of tastelessness comes into play in this situation.

Like I said before, those of us who grew up on Craig Phillips, Helen and Paul, Nasty Nick and Jade Goody (when she was just a loveable idiot) have grown up and moved on.

Those who were either very young or not even born when Nick Bates got rumbled are watching Love Island.

BB, in civilian or "celebrity" flavour, has had its time now. It's as simple as that. C4 were right to can it after a decade.

Doesn't help C5's image of being the channel where TV shows go to die.

In fairness to the producers, tonight was highly dramatic. Chloe's evicted. She's been flirting with Jermaine but doesn't know he's married, and Emma Willis breaks it to her in the post-eviction interview.

It was very good telly and well handled by Emma. The ethics of the whole thing remain dodgy, but such has always been the case with reality TV. At least it wasn't utterly tedious at the same time, as it has been of late.
