First topic in this forum.
Decided to create this thread to share my opinions and to see what people's opinions on what their favourite or hated digital channels are. Defunct channels count too.

Here are what I consider to be the best digital channels in the UK of all time, whether I watch them or not:
All 5 terrestrial services
ITV2/ITV3/ITV4
E4/More4/Film4
BBC Four
Sky1/Atlantic/Living
Sky Sports
Gold/Dave
Fox
Comedy Central
5 USA / 5Star
Challenge
Nat Geo
Yesterday
CBBC/CBeebies

Defunct channels that proved their worth:
BBC Three (despite its online move)
Plus
Bravo
Channel One/Virgin1

Worst ones of the lot:
History (modern version)
YourTV
Disney Channel (modern)
Nickelodeon (modern)
MTV
Arise News
All of the adult trash that plagues Freeview (especially TMTV)

What do you think in your opinion are the best and worst digital channels of all time?

ALL channels are digital now, and I'm not sure why you wold count History or MTV as bad channels.

I initially didn't count the five terrestrial services, but I'll add them.
History and MTV - first one is utterly devoid of anything related to history, second channel is just car crash programming at worst.

The worst channels, in my opinion, are the ones who air Teleshopping. Not their programming, I'd admit a lot of the channels I like. Its just why would somebody wake up at 1am, turn on the TV, and tune into Teleshopping. Kids channels did this too. The invention of YouTube and shopping websites make Teleshopping useless now.

I think any channel that shows Dr Who is the worst..... Laughing

Clearly the OP wasn't around when History was a decent documentary channel in the 90s. However it was exterminated by the time he started watching the channel.

Yes, I'm not entirely sure what has happened in the past twenty years but clearly television on the whole has been dumbed-down considerably in that time.

Nonsense.

There has always been plenty of crap "dumb" programming, most of it completely forgettable. Hence why you don't remember it.

The only difference today is the number of channels.

Back in the 90s and early 2000s it was decent. Modern History channel seems to be devoid of any history.

I disagree. The difference today is that more people seem to be accepting of it.
