I think the curvy ones from about 10 years ago are a good example of that..
The bizarre thing about those credits is that they were put on the news too - which never ever had an ECP, and often didn't have any credits at all so you just had an empty curvy box (other than the news logo) at the side!
That is the other problem with generic credits of course. They often look awful when shown on other channels (or even the original channel after a rebrand) with a different ECP design.

and all Carlton news programmes too, you'd have Central News at Six to the left and right, with some newsline info on the left and right with a wide shot of the studio behind!

There was a normal version of those credits though, used on the ITV2 repeat:

from crossroads2001.co.uk
I would have thought that that would be on all ITV shows used as an international/export version.

There was a previous version of this with the yellow square at the end too, which looked equally as daft. You see it when they repeat Footballers Wives and Bad Girls on CBS Drama, and it's on the DVDs too.
This one?

(Yes, InB4 VirginMediaPhil digs this out of that Youtube User's channel as no doubt it's on there somewhere )
That one, yes.
A bit off topic but remember those truly revolting "Previous" and "Next time" straps ITV used to use during their drama programmes that were pointlessly and hideously in the same style as the old credits (with the different shades of blue). Why on earth did they think that was necessary?

Here it is. Actually not quite a bad as I remember but I think it looked much worse on screen. There was simply no need for a corporate look for that aspect of the programme.

Or just not having a URL on them at all, and allow ITV1, STV and UTV to have their own addresses on the ECP...?
Surely, that would make more sense?
This would mean that the itv.com (and the other two URLs) would not appear when the programme is repeated on other channels.
Coronation Street isn't repeated anymore though is it? Last I looked Granada Plus last broadcast around 7 years ago.
What about having a central 'coronationstreet.co.uk' that then links you to the three websites?

Wouldn't there be international versions though?

Wikipedia reports that it is shown in 'many countries'.

Also, in 34 years time, the yet to launch ITV58HD will show episodes from 34 years ago on a PPV basis so the itv.com URL will be handy then too even if it will be 100% owned by a 114 year old Rupert Murdoch by then.

Yours may have but it was in reply to David, who said "other channels" not necessarily meaning within the UK.

I probably should have looked at that shouldn't I?
