Something odd happened on BBC1 this evening at 6:30PM after the BBC News. Just before Look North, a BBC1 National trailer was shown. But for some odd reason, the BBC ONE red box was sparkling again. When the red shutters closed, the glitter dust fell of the text as well. I can't remember what programme the trailer was premoting, but it had nothing to do with Christmas. I tuned in after Look North at 7:00PM to see another trailer and things were back to normal. This seems very strange being as though today is January 6th - Epiphany, the day Christmas ends.

Another thing I noticed that ahead of the one o' clock news (I think so anyway) on Monday December 20th, BBC ONE Yorkshire used Skateboarders yet this was after the Christmas Puddings had been launched
The first ident then... it's not that bad.. but to be honist its just like last years but just bouncing on christmas puddings instead of dressing up as snow flakes...

That's exactly what I thought! Still, there's no denying that it's pretty ingenious idea for a 10-year-old.
The usual formal version of the BBC1 Christmas pudding ident was used this evening to introduce the newsflash regarding the Asian Earthquake. Very bad idea IMO. I know, it's Christmas, but this is a very serious and solumn matter. I think that they should have used a silent still of ballet instead.
What a sad coincidence that such a situation did arise, after all of our discussion about it. Anyway, a still of Ballet would look crap:
The blurred still of Capoeira used on the day of the Queen Mother's death looked better.
If you ask me, I think they should have used the full "Ballet", music and all. As Black Cat correctly pointed out, a still of Ballet look ridiculous. Btw, they used still Ballet when they announced the Queen Mother's death: ten ballerinas with their legs cocked in the air. It looked terrible. There's a video of it on TV Ark.

Congratulations for noticing this - but it's a bit late to tell everyone isn't it? Besides, BBC1 Yorshire viewers, like myself, noticed this on the 20th December and have already talked about it: (there's a quote on the next post).
