Does anyone know if you can get BBC World free to air in digital? I currently watch it in analogue on Hotbird.

It has been said many times before that BBC World will never be able FTA on SkyD or any other digital platform for that matter. The only is on Hotbird and this will forever be the only way unless the BBC change their policy on BBC Worldwide, scrap the licence fee and put adverts on BBC One and Two.
So you see it's never going to happen!

Well answering the question 'is it availble on digital', the answer is 'yes', but not in this country. In Germany certain DSat packages contain BBC World (Well .. it had the World Service Television logo on the box!!). I've no idea which satellite this is, so I don't know if its footprint lays over the british isles, but the answer to the question is 'yes, but not in the UK'!!

What's so good about BBC World anyway?
It's nothing more than BBC News 24 with adverts surely!
No, BBC World has better vamps, better idents and stings, a better sport programme, and better presentation overall, plus the perfect combination of BBC programmes!

Yeah believe me I'm just as depresed about it as well! Even though I get it on Hotbird at the mo (arn't I lucky!) the channel I believe could be better if it was available in the Uk, if the BBC really want to make a mint they should rip the adverts, make us all pay £4 per month for it in the UK and upgrade the news and programming making it superiour!
Well thats never going to happen, so we'll stick to the dish and broadband for now then

Trust me, Davester, you don't want anything to do with BBC America. Incidentally, anyone can get World through Windows Media Player.
