I predicted that it would have the Neon music instead of the original music and I was right.

It's Silk, not Neon. Sorry Wink

Considering their whole ident style is now just recycled stuff from the 90s I don't get why they don't just do what BBC2 NI are doing and stick with the old ones. They actually have stood the test of time and as they're nowhere near as familar as the main BBC2 idents or even the Christmas BBC1 idents of the time they almost pass off as new.

Just seen it on iPlayer. I'm not sure if it works.

It would be great if the silk could be changed in post to have a festive design on it.

What bright spark in London thought that this looked good (or even legible): dates/days in black text on the dark blue Christmas trail end boards?

Yes, I noticed that too. I would suggest that perhaps the regular template, which uses that formula, has not been updated to compensate for the Christmas look.

This still would not explain what is preventing a simple "using one's eyes to see an obvious design problem being broadcast to the nation" check, however.

BBC2 2000 Christmas Sting #1, shown on NI today at 3.28pm.

edit: sorry, Andrew Wood, I hadn't spotted you posting an upload.

Hope to see the other stings in that set very soon on NI.
