Surely it doesn't exist on Freeview?
What is BBC Parliament showing on Freeview then?

Well I meant if it is showing an MHEG caption, like the one they use on BBC Three and Four.
For example: http://tim32.org/~muzer/muxdiag.png/mheg-captions-20110927/BBC%20THREE.png

That caption says "We are off-air for the duration of the London 2012 Olympic Games", which technically isn't correct, as it's only off-air on Freeview, and is still available on Satellite and Cable, and I'm surprised that there isn't any mention of this.

Yep, get that on the TV. For some reason, the PC software is picking a different bit of info out of the MHEG data below (most of which is code)

Are you *genuinely* surprised at this?

Given that the above caption is only going to be seen on the Freeview platform (correct?), and that any given viewer will clearly think in terms of the platform that they actually *have* got and/or are watching at the time (rather than a platform that they haven't/aren't), then the wording is perfectly adequate, surely?

You could argue that people would see the caption on Freeview and in houses with more than one platform, would assume that it is off air on other platforms too and wouldn't bother watching.
But then you could counter that with basic common sense- I'd assume BBC Parliament viewers to be intelligent.

Fair points, both.
