Watching BBC NI regularly for the first time in a while, it strikes me how many local trails there are.

Mind you that one for the programme about Ulster people who webt to New Zealand seems to be on loads. And "The Blame Game".

BBC One Balloon clock before the BBC NEWS at 10!

It was 90s heaven between 9-10 with the two "birthday" balloon idents too. We've been spoilt with nostalgia for the past few days, great work from Northern Ireland. They're going to struggle to top this now!

Even BBC One NI's logo on Twitter went retro for BBC NI's 90th birthday. Check it out:

It's worth checking out BBC Northern Ireland's official Youtube channel. Some classic idents are there in 'HD' and full. I don't think i've ever seen Optics in full before, well not in that quality anyway.

Yes, before this week I didn't think BBC One could go back to the 90s idents in the same way that BBC Two has, but the balloons still look fresh.

The normal BBC One idents are good, though.

There was a documentary shown last night on BBC TWO NI which was to celebrate BBC NI's 50th anniversary in 1974.

Some interesting behind the scenes stuff, mostly at Broadcasting House in Belfast (which had some sort of makeshift door, presumably due to a bomb). A simpler time in some ways but it was at the height of the troubles which definitely had an impact.

Interesting for me a least that the canteen hadn't changed much when I did work experience there 20 years later!

Wasn't generated live and was obviously pre-recorded, mainly because the second hand remained in the 12 position for a little too long when it hit 10 o' clock.

Did anyone capture it?
