I'm not normally this sad, but my clock was on in the corner and I just happendd to notice that the News actually started just after 10:50 and NOT 10:48. Not sure who looks more sad but like to keep things accurate. Oh... and nobody's mentioned that they used the generic titles

Well credit to all at TVC. They did turn around a lot in a very short time. Interesting to see that ITV News went on air just as the penalties ended and had clearly predicted a win for England saying "England go all the way" - where to? Home? But, in their favour, they also did an excellent turn around in a very short time - even if Mark Austin was left to ad-lib the penalty shoot-out.

I suspect most of the the country's distracted.... what generic titles anyway? I thought all the BBC's titles had dancers on them, no matter what the situation (unless I've picked you up wrong).

The BBC News titles used were generic - no number in the centre of the red ribbons. Intrestingly, they also had a blank opt in sting - which one would they have used pre-February 2004? I presume the old summary intro sting?

When the regions opted back, the sting played didn't have a "10" on it.

im sorry but I have been reading these posts for a while, and some of the posts on this forum are not interesting, they are just a) sad and b)pathetic speculating. the rest of the country watches the most exciting match for a while and all some people can do is concern themselves with whether the 10 o clock news is now on at 10.48 or 11. For God's sake, who cares? And does it occur to some of you that TV presenters have a normal life? Why the shock if Anna Ford doesnt present the news as normal, as if she'd just been abducted by aliens, live on air? Will someone explain?

Tis a TV presentation forum. Therefore TV presentation gets talked about. Football gets talked about in footy forums. Buses get talked about in bus forums.

So go and play with your spirit level or whatever.
