I would have agreed with this until Stephen Mulhern turned up.
Be thankful we still have a show like it on TV

Everything on this show is a shameless rip-off of something else. There's rarely, if ever, any originality idea on Takeaway.
But that's what makes it so great… it's the best Saturday night show because it takes those well worn ideas and brings them up to date
Be thankful we still have a show like it on TV… the alternative at this time of year is The Voice which isn't too original either
The Voice has, just about, it's own USP though. Takeaway is literally just a 90 minute copy/paste mashup of other people's shows while utterly devoid of any creativity of it's own. Noel Edmonds and Vic & Bob had a little digs at them last year for this and you have to wonder how many other people in the undustry are grumbling quietly.
Its a cheap knock of sun sea suspicious parents this seagment

Who cares if the ideas have come from other things? It's still fantastic entertainment that everyone can enjoy, and is far more interesting than The Voice.

Seems they have gotten rid of the audience members photos being shown on a random screen somewhere in the world, in place of a giant finger with a camera attached.

The Voice is just another talent show though, with a gimmick that couldn't hold viewer's interests after the auditions stage.
I'm not really speaking from the industry perspective though, just as a viewer who thinks it's fab that ITV are still willing to have a fun traditional Saturday night variety show.
I would have agreed with this until Stephen Mulhern turned up.
Ooh I can't bring myself to hate Stephen Mulhern as I grew up with him during CiTV's imperial phase and the Quick Trick Show. I think he was probably the longest serving CiTV presenter of that era, there from 1998 until around 2003/2004, just before he started Ministry of Mayhem I think?
He's certainly changed his presenting style since then though and I can see why it must grate for some people. Funny how 15 years ago I was watching Ant & Dec and Stephen Mulhern on CiTV, 15 years later I'm watching them on primetime ITV.

Assuming that you aren't a 15 year old girl, I'm not surprised.
