When weathergirls become newsreaders

There's been some others too. Gill Impey was a HTV West weather girl and read the short news bulletins too long ago. Lovely little thing.

Then at EMT Sara Blizzard keeps her hand in by reading the afternoon bulletin most week days and does the weather at lunch and tea time. Also mentioned ,before she left EMT Lukwesa Burak their ex weather girl read the news sometimes , now she's with another news channel..

On CNW, Emma Jesson is the weather girl and very very occasionally gets down on the sofa for a bit of news reading.

I email James Wright about this, his reply:

Many thanks for your kind words. Yes I've always been freelance so flip
between ITV regions but Wales won't let me do news as I'm too firmly
ingrained as a weather presenter (strange as Central haven't got the
same issue!)

The only weathers that come from Birmingham are the weekends which
Charlie and Emma cover for us, we do a lot more live weather than
Central does because of the way we're structured. I occasionally do
weathers in Brum but only when necessary, eg. Heading to north Wales to
do live weather.

Well I'm presenting Weather for ITV West over the weekend! I'll work
for anyone! I also do corporate work to top the money up as television
is NO WAY near as lucrative as it used to be!

I could just imagine James Wright on a shopping channel-- he has an air of Mr Humphreys about him !

They were both fun to work with.... James had a great moment when a shower head attachment he was demoing in the studio popped off the hose under pressure. Presenter, guest and water everywhere. It took hours for the lighting rig to dry out!

Oh my days!! I have always suspected James to be quite a character; when he presents CNE, he is fond of wry remarks after lighter bulletins. James in a wet-shirt competition... whatever next

I couldn't imagine Charlie Neil doing such a thing, maybe Emma Jesson.. when she's not appearing on TV's Naughtiest Blunders 124
