The revamp is not too bad - graphics quite good, Titles quite alright. Also fits in quite well with the ITV "brand".
I like the graphics, but the titles look as if they were created in a rush!
As for the music, I can't really hear the signature tune, and it sounds very ITV News.

Yikes, the graphics aren't nice to look at at all and titles are hideous. There's a mish-mash as well with the use of both the ITV font and the old Helvetica (or is it Arial?) font, and many old blue graphics appeared throughout the show.
The content is fine, I assumed that Tonight would lose some of it's populist slant and adopt a more formal tone to match with ITV News but apparently this hasn't happened. No matter as I'm sure it does well with it's current format.
The theme is nice enough and notice how they've robbed Tonight of it's "doo-doo-doo" motif and given it to ITV News! They're both done by the same composer and maybe the motif could have been retained by both programmes.

I didn't watch this, didn't know when it was on, but I will say this. I don't like it. I just prefer the old version - the yellow colour doesn't work here. At least the cold and harsh blues of the last design covered up the fact this was just a tabloid-style TV show, this just screams it. From the cheesy words like 'Health' and 'Education' in the titles to Julie Etchingham being in a derelict industrial building, it's almost unwatchable.

Surely someone is making alot of money providing the same derelict building for just about every interview on TV documantaries for the last few years. I suspect that it's Bazelgette, as he appears in most of them as a commentator!
I certainly didn't like Julie Etchingham's insistance of introducing herself as "...me, Julie Etchingham" in such an American fashion as if the British public were unable to read the name strap which appeared moments later.
Dumbed down journalism for a dumbed down audience, no doubt. It certainly wasn't investigative, more sensationalist, and provided nothing that wasn't already in the public domain. Was the research credited to google and wikipedia, because it probably should've been.
Pathetic! Give up, ITV, if that's the best you can offer as a PSB commitment.

Why is that American?
I notice it as a US practice to announce the name of the presenter in that way both at the start and end of a news programme/documentary. It may have been adopted in other English-speaking nations.
It hasn't been adopted here until now, as far as I know. I hope the BBC don't do it (other than for Panorama, where it is his trademark intro...) I don't believe that it's repeated with Vine's name on a strap, although he may be credited as presenter at the end.
