On the STV News East, at 6pm, the sports news had a report on Andy Murray getting a new coach. Watching it, there were interviews with both Murray and his new coach. Just at the end of the report though, as we were to hand back to the presenter, for a split second, you were able to see where the interviews were sourced from. The interview of his coach was then followed by a brief glimpse of the BBC Sport studio at Queens Club! So, obviously these were recorded off BBC.

Only a split second for the error, but noticeable. Which makes me ask, do regional broadcasters often take interviews from other channels?

It's rare for a broadcaster to take an interview from a rival, the only time I really see it is Sunday bulletins taking clubs from the likes of Andrew Marr and Mernaghan, or if someone has given an exclusive interview and it's marked as such, therefore little chance of getting the same guest. Permission would need to be gained in any case.

More likely with regional news, are off air recordings of national programmes of the same broadcaster.

If it's the clip I'm thinking of with Mauresmo that was shown on BBC2 earlier then that itself was from a press conference at Roland Garros anyway.
