So many questions. I wonder how Sky will promote the HD channel on the SD channel. I hope I'm wrong but I am imaging a permanent DOG saying "Switch to 517 for HD" or at the very least a regular appearance by a similar message on the ticker. What about starting every 15 minutes with "This is Sky News, bringing you the news in 15 minutes, every 15 minutes and in HD on channel 517"?
What about Sky News Active? Will they be happy to carry on providing 8 channels of sub SD quality pictures on a HD channel?

I imagine they'll do something silly like 'On our HD Channel Sky Channel 517' before every ad break. Will make a change to their website plugging I suppose.

Good to see Anna Jones presenting Afternoon Live again this afternoon, I notice a lot of the regular weekday presenters, JT, Kay, Anna and Dermot weren't around this week. Are there HD/Election rehearsals taking place?
Very noticeable that they are using the jib cameras a lot more atm, especially on Afternoon Live today.

To add to that Colin Brazier and Adam Boulton (who is in America) weren't on this week. Maybe they just gave them a week off because the weeks ahead will be demanding on them with most putting in long hours ahead of the election and to a lesser extent the budget.

To the best of my knowledge, the actual "Sky News Centre" is not being renamed with HD in the title so it wouldn't be accurate. I perhaps could see HD being in the intros, just not in that style.
