A bit late to this, but I noticed that Wales, Northern Ireland and East didn't use an ident with a Subtitles bug in the corner. Are there still "officially" strict rules around this - or given most output is subtitled, is the notification itself now becoming irrelevant?

Northern Ireland started using the 'Subtitles' tag again shortly after this in early 2018.

It’s weird but I kind of notice the Subtitles tag and think of it as a “here you go, the programme’s starting now” cue. Especially on Christmas idents.

Interesting to see that while ex-Bid TV presenter Pocket Sized Mark Ryes appeared in front of a BBC News backdrop in that widely circulated video from a psychometric test, ex-Bid TV presenter Charlie McArdle is there in an official capacity on BBC One Channel Islands.
