I'm beginning to wonder if it's their DVE that won't let them change the scale ratio, just the actual percentage in a ratio of 4:3 cos you think they'd notice!

Where as BBC Newsline seem to have more fun with theirs, pushing things in and out whizzing about, However viewers may note their 2-way graphics font is sometimes changing too!

Quick question about the People's Millions films that have been showing this week. Why is it that the opening and closing stings are in 16:9, but the slides with the phone/text numbers are in 4:3 stretched to 16:9?

I noticed that UTV had part of UTV Live signed in-vision on Friday's edition - yet the picture box containing the in-vision signer obscured most of the graphics.

Yet the Astons are supered over the signer, which means her hand movements were often cut off!

Good intention, awful execution.

And who kept throwing a box back and forth at Fearghal on Friday night in the St Andrew's Agreement report? I kept expecting party music to be playing in the background, but that's too much of an ITV News idea.

And they cut into Peter Hain's conversation with Paul Clark mid-sentence. Paul still hasn't learnt to stop interrupting interviewees either.

I still have yesterday and today's programmes to catch up on too...

Astons, as seen on last night's UTV Live...

Dickie Best
It's a great tribute to George's talent

Barbara McNarry
Chance to own a little piece of George

Am I being funny or do the second lines of text seem unusual and almost inappropriate for such a news report?

A nice slip-up as well before the break when the VT for the stories coming up after the break failed to play and threw Paul and Lynda.

That Irish music on Julie O'Connor's report is so depressing. Still, I suppose some people would be glad to hear less of her...

Also noticed last night that for the first time I've seen, a plasma graphic was used to introduce a sports item - it looks like the sports presenter sitting back at the desk may be a permanent move.

Oh dear - why are UTV devoting screen time on UTV Live to updates on I'm a Celebrity...? Don't we get enough of the series on other programmes on the channel already?

Whatever next - Donna and Noel doing a nightly critique of Celebrity Scissorhands?

And tonight - Paul Clark previews a forthcoming story and the VT for the next news story about a sewage tunnel begins, and then after 20 seconds, the VT is cut, Paul introduces the sewage report with some umm-ing and ah-ing and the report starts from the beginning again.

I think in relation to the bank note they were trying to use the astons to give more coverage and describe people's opinions but they just don't work as the second line is normally for a title.

Where as BBC Newsline seem to have gone OTT on this Bebo story.

And having a subtle dig at UTV by claiming they had a reporter at the Omagh inquiry every day...

They do. Whilst Chris is elsewhere, they've got someone else going there. Expect Newsline specials left right and centre whatever happens when a decision (if any) is made.

How come UTV has got 'The People's Millions' - thought this was an ITV plc thing?

Is it on SMG 2?

Yes it's happening in every ITV region.

I have heard BBC have pulled Chris out of the trial.
