It's a nice place. It's near my aunts house in Ballyshannon, which is about 10 minutes away from the border, which Belleek is on, I think.

Ballyshannon is no where near the Belleek I am in.

I think Seamus is talking about the Fermanagh Belleek... OT but anytime I have driven past Belleek onwards to Ballyshannon, as the N3 gets close to the hydroelectric dam it freaks me out.

I was having a little fiddle around with Photoshop and thought it would look much tidier if UTV did something like this at the end of their programmes rather than that God-awful endcap that they insist on using:

Would it be possible for UTV to do this on a live programme or would it only be possible post-production?

That looks a lot neater, Stevie - but somehow it reminds me too much of the current BBC News end caption.

O I like that Stevie when I looked at it I thought they had changed it then thought no wait this is UTV!

Did anyone notice on Thursday's UTV Live that on returning from the break, Paul and Lynda missed their cues?

Or did the sting for the ITV Evening News fail?

If all that is is a static white caption keyed in bottom right over a studio wide shot - then it is dead simple to do live. If there are other elements - such as a virtual bit of scenery etc. then that is more tricky to do, as you have to line up the studio camera shot with the virtual bits - fine if it is a locked off camera only offering a wide shot, but a bit more difficult to do if it is a manually operated camera, or a remote.

Yeah I did notice that Col, was quite funny just watching Paul staring gormlessly into the camera! Think it was the Evening News sting that failed because they did return to it later on.

Anyone catch Niall Donnelly on L8 & Live on Friday night?!

I've noticed UTV Live appear to be doing reports on low-end camcorders. One was atrociously shot, interviewee on right hand side of the screen, as well as the background element they wanted to keep in shot (a sign for Kells).

Not only that he was looking to the right so the left side was just all dead space, not to mention the quality of the camera!

And it now seems like a new animating logo on the plasma screens, and guess what, another different font.

The UTV logo is now in colour, live is in white but a different font than the titles and set background and a light blue swirl for the graphic background.

New plasma images tonight, once again in a totally different font!

The animation is nice though, very subtle...
