Great to see weekend bulletins occasionally coming from Cambridge. Shame Cambridge only seem to have a copy of the West version of the titles rather than the combined.

Presumably if we are getting new titles there will need to be at least three versions if not six if they do day and night versions.

Are their viewers that partially sighted? I mean that's huge.

Will these new titles be using the 'R' word font?

Well unfortunately it has been a long time since the Look East titles have been something to be proud of - no doubt people doing their best with the tools they have.

Those titles are an AfterEffects template and workflow. It's more a lack of finesse or skill than necessarily a poor tool. It may be that to the designer (who probably usually edits for Web as well as TV) is used to formatting for smaller screens?

The top story on this evening's South Today (Oxford sub-opt) was about a murder in the Buckinghamshire village of Maids Moreton.

Look East (Cambridge) had the same top story - albeit much briefer coverage than on ST - with the somewhat tenuous qualifier that it was "near Milton Keynes". Maids Moreton is firmly in the Aylesbury Vale part of the county (about 19km west-SW of Milton Keynes, but only about 1.6km north of Buckingham).

Loom East seemed to have overlooked the need for some in studio graphics that include place names for both the east and west half so on Breakfast bulletins they are devoid of the western half of the region. Seems crazy that this could have been overlooked.

BBC Look East (West opt from Cambridge) conducting a live interview from within their newsroom itself on the 6:30 bulletin, rather than the studio.

Nice little setup with some chairs near a window.

Never seen them do it before.

And yet, despite being in the newsroom, still looks 100% better than anything from the Norwich studio.
