I'd assume that Cambridge can opt out by themselves without needing to go through Norwich first, as they would have a direct feed to Broadcasting House (I think!!) just like all the other regions

Cambridge and Norwich are two seperate regions with two separate transmission chains.
In the analogue days the three sub-regions: Oxford, Cambridge and Hull were reliant on their parent region as they were effectively built as add ons to them. When digital came along everything was designed from scratch.
I think the only exception is the Channel Islands which can't go on air without Plymouth

Cambridge always had its own opt-chain for the West of the region. It was hanging off a Norwich 'dirty' feed rather than getting a clean feed of Network (meaning Cambs had to opt just before Norwich to get out cleanly), but it didn't require Norwich to do anything for the opt-out to happen. When DVB-T arrived it was slightly more complex. (There was a switch at the Sandy Heath transmitter that switched between Cambridge studio output and BBC One 'Norwich' which was remotely controlled from the Cambridge gallery)
However for Cambridge to opt-out pan-regionally they had to rely on Norwich to opt-out to the incoming studio feed from Cambridge (and not opt-out in Cambridge)

Sorry to double post.
Look East (Norwich) did a Live debate on Thursday for the NHS at 70 Live from Chelmsford. Susie presented this, normally something I would expect Stewart to. He did not appear at all. Amelia presented 2 min summary mid programme.
The newly completely seperate Look East (West) Cambridge also did a Live programme but based with LIVE's & reports and interviews with Janine presenting from Milton Keynes Hospital. There was no news summary/other news.

They need a new set as well!
New oval shaped coffee table has appeared on LE from Norwich this evening.

Carole's also been doing some shifts on BBC Look East.
Indeed always tends to be the late bulletin. Never alongside stalwart Stewart.
Part of that seems to be that Amelia is certainly the second lead female presenter and there has been an increase in single headed presentation when one presenter is off for a day or two as opposed to a week. Given Cambridge is a full half hour and single presenter you wonder if that's the way Norwich will end up in future.
Kind of ironic that she seems to be presenting more now she's 'left' the BBC than she ever did when employed by them...

I highly doubt it. It's a ratings winner the double headed presentation. Plus not forgetting Julie on the weather. A constant 20 year trio surely now.

Minor set alternation. The frosted globe which was etched/stuck onto the plexiglass of the fake newsroom of the Norwich set has been removed. Still visible on the Cambridge background.
Oh and this... I mean, really? Please don't say that someone had that made recently?
