In the pre-pre atrium era (as in the Martyn Lewis clip above), the era was dominated (for me) by Michael Nicholson and his famous gaffes! I always assumed that the bulletin was broadcast from the same studio as News at Ten, with just different camera shots making the difference. Can anyone confirm if it was the same or a different studio?
Nope. News At One and News At Ten came from Studio 1 at Rediffusion House in that era, whilst the News at 5.45 came from Studio 2. Studio 2 was also used for Police 5 with Shaw Taylor.
By the time James is talking about, ITN had moved to ITN House in Wells Street. I believe they moved there in 1969 and moved to their current home on Gray's Inn Road in 1990/1991.
