What a shame there's not a single TV aerial pointing towards Hannington within about 5 miles of the airport. More 'regional stretching' for cheap copy.

Top headline here on the South coast too. A good 70 miles from Heathrow.

I'm not normally a prude but, in this instance, I must object. The skill of the pilots and cabin crew should not be under-estimated and this could have been much more serious. Instead of being quick to put the crew down, celebrate the fantastic job they have done!

Last time something like this happened in the UK, the crash was caused after an engine failure and the pilots shut the working engine down... Not saying that this is the same, but there was lots of praise for the crew then, until the truth came out and they we're very promptly sacked.

On the other hand, praise must be given to all the crew (flight and cabin) for getting the passengers off as quickly as they did.

It really is a non-news story. You could see the disapointment on Kay Burley's face when it was realised it wasn't a terrorist attack, and there were no fatalities!

Well, it wasn't that far from falling directly on the roof of Sky themselves !

Now it would be distasteful to say anything about that, but I'm sure you're all thinking what I'm thinking! Wink

It came just as they were running out of incidents for Air Crash Investigation to cover.
