Here was the overview when the newsroom was announced. You can see the back up studio at the left. Also you can see the windows surrounding the newsroom. The renders look pretty spot to the actual newsroom

Fox News just cut the ribbon seconds ago on telly with host Bill Hemmer. I had to admit it really looks good on telly. Its a bright and clean look. Aside from their yellow and destructive journalism, their on air presentation has dramatically improved. They certainly have some graphic and music issues remaining. But Studio N as shown in the 2ns pic, looks brilliant on tv. Clean and bright. But not boring like SKYNews new digs. Makes CNN looks dumpy frumpy and old and disjointed. I could imagine this being the look SKYNEWS should have been going for. It actually looks brighter and clearer on tv than the pics suggests. The studio is ringed by windows so light pours in. That is a window next to the vertical monitor with the FNC logo. Certainly a huge departure for the dark dugeon of doom they used from their launch. Too bad all this is for the Trump/Republican propaganda channel.

Just another example that you don't really need much for a great studio when you have a nice newsroom behind. Put some glass between them, ad a screen or news-wall of sorts and that's it.

If Sky did the same with their new newsroom it would be a perfect alternative to the glass box instead of the lifeless mess they got.

I thought I read last year that News International had brought space downtown in 1 World Trade Centre for Fox News new newsroom/studios?

What happened to that, if they've spent all those greenbacks on rebuilding the 2nd floor of the current building?

They decided not to go with that plan. I am sure I read somewhere it had to deal with costs.

They were planning to move to the World Trade Center. But decided not to last year. Instead they upgraded the Ave of Americas Building they are currently located in. Just across from Radio City and down the street from Rockefeller Center.

FBN (FNC's real sister network) looks really tired now. It is seriously bland and dull, CNBC looks fresh compared to the unloved biz network.

I'm no lover of Fox News to be honest - but have to admit that it looks pretty good there!

How much did it cost? Are there any figures in the public domain?

Here is the ribbon cutting ceremony and a brief tour.

Here was the previous basement news-dungeon the moved out of.

Just for context how weird that works space was. here is the newsroom of the their Affiliate in Boston that was previously an O&O

And this the combined newsroom of Fusion/Univision/WLTV-TV Miami in Miami with the studios ringing the newsroom. So certianly the FoxNews-Dungeon was strange to say the least.
