Finally, they have got rid of that horrid blue weather international breakfiller. They now show 'Fox News Extra' thinggy showing a full report on a news story, Spotlight report.
It does make a nice change.

Noticed this too. Hum.. Ive never been too keen on FOX. Its so dramatised. Its a shame to see sky news *going the same way*

Given the number of ad breaks an hour on FOX News Channel these new fillers are very welcome.

Sky News or ITV 1 for example would never do or be allowed to come back from break, do one story, then go back to a break?

I think Sky news could (as long as they don't show too many individual advertisments) and I think during the Sky World news in the early morning they start the programme with the headlines then lead straight into a break. News on ITV1 couldn't as ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are limited as to how many advert breaks appear in a programme.

They probably could, but they wouldn't do it because that format would drive away all their viewers

As for Fox, I'm glad they haven't reverted back to that thing they had before they introduced the foxcast

Live at 5 quite regularly does this. A break occurs at something like 5:51 before one story and then the usual break before the TOTH. I guess it just makes the rest of the hour "flow" a bit easier and commercial-free.

I beleive the format for the (awful) Sky World News is:

Headlines.
Break
Top Story
Break
Series of Stories
Break
Headlines
Break
and then into the back 15 minutes

Very confusing schedule and totally annoying.

I have recently re-adjusted my Sky viewing package & don't get FOX news anymore. All that is on screen is the description of the channel & how to subscribe to it.
It actually says it 'provides fair and balanced information on every issue' Are they taking the P ? That has got to be one for the trades discriptions act perhaps even Ofcom - then again perhaps not Ofcom. Rolling Eyes
